Chai Cocktail Drink Recipe: The Summer Home
This drink utilizes our signature Coffee Cherry Chai which is crafted using the dried berries surrounding the coffee bean and offers a complex and savory flavor. Brew it up, put it over some ice, throw some booze in there and you've got the perfect porch sip for the perfect summer day. The spicy ginger syrup is very easy to make, it can be used in a multitude of recipes and will last at least one month in the fridge if you top it off with a little vodka before storing.
- 1 oz. good Bourbon
- 3 oz. Iced Chai Tea
- 1 oz. spicy ginger syrup
- 3 shakes DRAM Hair of The Dog Bitters
- orange wheels
For the syrup:
- 1/4 cup sliced fresh ginger
-2 cups water
-2 cups sugar
Bring the water to a boil in a medium saucepan, add the sugar and stir well to dissolve. Add the ginger and remove the pan from heat. Cover the pot and allow the ginger to "steep" until the mixture has cooled. Strain the ginger out, and voila! Spicy Ginger Syrup.
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker over ice. Shake well and dump into a mason jar. Garnish with orange wheels and enjoy you're lovely day.
